Taunt and Provocation[]

Taunt is a form of crowd control as it forces enemies to attack the taunting hero with attacks. That way the taunter (often it's a tank) can protect their allies from single, focused attacks.

However, enemies can still use AoE attacks that hit all their opponents or use multi-target attacks (rampage) to bypass the taunting hero.

The Provoked debuff is another form of Taunt. It works only against a single attacker and forces the attacker to target the provoker next turn. If Taunt and Provoked are both active then Provoked takes precedence.

The trait  Turn a Blind Eye grants immunity to Taunt, Provoked and Aversion.

Taunt invalidates the Aversion effect as long it is active.

The Taunt effect of Tank Runes lasts only 1 round. The use of several Tank Runes extends the duration of Taunt by +1 round for each rune, but the DEF+ side-effect of Taunt does not stack.

The use of an Aversion Rune on 3 allies can give the 4th hero on the team an effect similar to Taunt that can't be purged and that doesn't expire. The reason is that Aversion can't be purged and doesn't expire and the 3 allied heroes can't be attacked as long the 4th ally (without Aversion) is alive.

 Frostbite Taunt Taunts, forcing enemies to target this Hero with attacks, buffs +DEF, and has a chance to apply Frostbite to attackers when hit. Starts Powered.  IGOROK Buffs DEF and chance to apply Frostbite to melee attackers. Starts powered.
 Gimme Gimme Taunts and heals self and Goblin allies.  Cruel King Bramble Heals Goblin allies.
 Scale Mail Cleanses all Debuffs on self. Taunts, forcing all enemies to target this Hero with attacks, and buffs +DEF. Starts Powered.  General Krexx Removes all debuffs ???at the begin of the turn???.

Venom on attackers mitigates damage ( Venom Defense)

Passive trait  Gorgon Devotion activates taunt when on a team with a Gorgon.

 Ground Pound Taunts all enemies and buffs +DEF. Allies take reduced damage for the duration of the effect. Melee attackers become Swamped. The next attack on a Swamped target heals the attacker. (not a debuff, can't be purged.) Starts Powered. Snow Day: Consume Snow Day to buff allies +DEF.  Jumbeaux Buffs DEF, apply Swamped to melee attackers and allies take reduced damage while effect is active. Starts powered.  Reckoning of the Wicked (Trait): Self and Demon allies ignore Taunt and Provoke, and cannot be Retaliated against.

Aversion[]
